As a community of faithful Catholics, Concerned Catholics Tasmania (CCT) is a voice of and for the laity and all the faithful, “the People of God”, in Tasmania. We strive to enliven and support our members and others, as our pilgrim Church journeys towards becoming a more inclusive, welcoming and collaborative church, embracing the gifts of all in a synodal spirit
We seek to collaborate with our Archbishop, our priests and the faithful in working towards a more inclusive, welcoming and collaborative church empowered by the spirit of synodality that Pope Francis and the Plenary Council 2020/2021 are promoting.
We are committed to finding a voice for the laity and sharing our commitment to our Baptismal call and to our Church, in this time and in our state of Tasmania.
The church’s social teaching reminds us that the common good does not arise spontaneously but requires shared responsibility. For the church this takes on “a synodal style” and “requires attention to the way in which decisions are made and responsibilities exercised, through transparency, accountability and evaluation.
